Apokoronas water authority board meets June 26 with 15 items on the agenda

The board of the Apokoronas municipal water and sewage authority (DEYAA) holds its ninth regular meeting of 2026 on Friday, June 26, at 12:00 noon. Because of technical problems at the usual hall in Vamos, the session will take place at the municipal building in Vrysses instead.

The 15-item agenda covers supply contracts, cleaning services, a debt relief scheme for consumers, and revised plans for four active construction projects.

Debt relief for water customers

One of the more significant items for residents is a proposed scheme to settle overdue debts owed to DEYAA. The board is expected to approve a structured arrangement for consumers who have fallen behind on their water and sewage bills, and to introduce easier payment terms for current invoices. The specific instalment conditions will be determined at the meeting.

Supply contracts for water infrastructure

The board will vote on direct-award contracts for water and sewage materials in five areas:

Cleaning services

Three cleaning contracts are on the table, all proposed for award to ΛΙΝΑΡΑΚΗ – ΣΗΜΑΝΤΗΡΑΚΗΣ ΓΕΝΙΚΟΙ ΚΑΘΑΡΙΣΜΟΙ ΙΚΕ (Therissou 35, Chania), each valued at €37,200.00 including 24% VAT:

Office and building cleaning for DEYAA premises
Water tank cleaning in the Armeni area
Water tank cleaning in the Kryoneris area

Revised plans for ongoing projects

The board will also consider the first revised work schedule (Anakefalaiotikos Pinakas) for four active projects:

Road surface restoration after water and sewage works across the municipality
Emergency water supply works in Georgioupoli
Emergency water supply works in Vamos
New water connections across the municipality

National association membership

As a first item, the board will vote on joining E.D.E.Y.A., the national association of municipal water and sewage enterprises, and will designate a representative and a deputy.
