Apokoronas moves to create official rules for its planned diving park

Summary

The Municipality of Apokoronas has launched a tender for a specialist study to draw up operational rules for its planned diving park, with the contract valued at just under €7,400. The work, funded entirely from the municipality's own budget, must be completed within eight months of signing. Anyone qualified to bid must submit a sealed offer to the municipal offices in Vrysses by August 21, 2026 at 14:00.

Apokoronas takes first formal step toward launching a diving park

The Municipality of Apokoronas is pressing ahead with plans to establish an underwater diving park by commissioning a study that will define how the site will be run. The study, once completed, will form the official operational rulebook for the park — covering how it is used, managed, and protected.

What the study involves

The contract covers the preparation of an operational regulations study for the Apokoronas Diving Park. The chosen specialist will have eight months from the date the contract is signed to deliver the completed work. The municipality is funding the entire project from its own budget — no external grants are involved.

The contract will be awarded to the lowest-priced bid that meets all formal requirements.

Who can apply?

The call is directed at engineers or firms holding a qualification in Naval and Mechanical Engineering (Ναυπηγών Μηχανολόγων Μηχανικών) who are registered with the relevant professional body. Applicants must provide a range of supporting documents, including tax and social security clearance certificates, a company registration extract, and a recent criminal record certificate.
