Free medical check-ups in Kavros on October 19, 2026
Residents of Kavros and the surrounding area have a chance to get a free health check-up next Monday, when a mobile team from EODY — Greece's national public health organisation — will set up in the village with a doctor on hand.
When and where
- Date: Monday, October 19, 2026
- Time: 10:00 – 14:00
- Location: Old Town Hall, Kavros
No appointment is needed. Anyone who wants to be seen by a doctor can simply turn up during the four-hour window.
What tests are available
The team carries rapid point-of-care (POC) testing equipment, meaning results are available immediately on site. Tests on offer include:
- Blood pressure
- Blood oxygen saturation
- Body mass index (BMI)
- Triglycerides (if the doctor considers it necessary)
- Blood sugar (if the doctor considers it necessary)
- Haemoglobin (if the doctor considers it necessary)
- Haematocrit (if the doctor considers it necessary)
- Covid rapid test (if the doctor considers it necessary)
- Flu A/B rapid test (if the doctor considers it necessary)
Home visits for those who cannot travel
The team also carries out home visits for people with serious health problems or mobility difficulties who are unable to come to the venue in person. If you or someone you know would benefit from a home visit, contact the municipal offices in advance to arrange it.
Part of a national programme
This visit is part of a nationwide initiative in which EODY mobile health teams, working alongside regional health authorities and local councils, travel to remote villages across mainland Greece and the islands. The aim is to bring basic preventive healthcare directly to communities that might otherwise have limited access to medical services.
