Want to host a music event in Apokoronas? Get your licence first
Anyone planning a public music event in the Municipality of Apokoronas — from a village cultural festival to a private concert — must obtain an official public music performance licence before they can book any municipal space. The municipality made this requirement explicit in an announcement published on July 13, 2026, and the message is straightforward: no licence, no venue.
Who does this apply to?
The rule covers anyone organising a music event of any kind in the municipality, including:
- Private individuals
- Cultural associations and clubs
- Non-profit organisations and societies
- Any other type of event organiser
What is the licence and why is it needed?
The public music performance licence is a legal requirement under Greek copyright law. It confirms that the organiser has properly cleared the rights to the music being performed — protecting both musicians and rights holders. Without it, organisers are not permitted to use publicly owned spaces, and the Municipality of Apokoronas has stated clearly that it will not grant access to any municipal venue until the licence is in hand.
