Power cut in Kavros and Dramia this Friday morning
Residents, holidaymakers and business owners in and around Kavros and Dramia face a planned power outage on the morning of Friday, August 7, 2026. Greece's electricity distribution company DEDDIE will carry out essential technical maintenance on the local network between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. — a window of up to three hours during which the affected areas will have no electricity.
Which areas are affected?
The outage covers the following areas:
- Kavros (including Traithorakis, Romanias, Kavros Beach, Lyra IKE, Vantarakis, Cheiladakis, Aithreia AXTE, Tsiledakis and Omas Oikon)
- Dramia
- Gelasakis Dramia
When exactly?
- Date: Friday, August 7, 2026
- From: 5:30 a.m.
- Until: 8:30 a.m.
The timing — the very start of the working day — means households waking up early, cafes opening for breakfast trade, and accommodation providers preparing for guests may all feel the impact.
What do residents need to know?
If the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule, power could be restored before 8:30 a.m. However, DEDDIE stresses that all cables and network components must be treated as live at all times, even during a planned outage. Under no circumstances should anyone approach or touch overhead or fallen cables, as the risk of serious injury remains throughout the work period.
Anyone relying on electrically powered medical equipment, refrigeration or other critical systems should make alternative arrangements in advance.
