The contract is valued at up to €37,200 including VAT, funded by central government allocations, with works to be completed within eight months of signing. Interested contractors registered in the building construction sector must submit a sealed bid to the municipal offices in Vrysses by Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Apokoronas schools to get repairs as municipality seeks contractor

The municipality of Apokoronas has moved to improve conditions in its school buildings, issuing a call for a construction contractor to carry out maintenance and repair works at primary and secondary schools across the area. The project, developed through a technical study by the municipality's own engineering department, covers building works at schools of both education levels.

What the project involves

The scope of works is set out in technical study No. 33/2026 and falls under the building construction category. The successful contractor will be required to begin work immediately upon signing the contract and must complete all works within eight months. The project is financed through central government grant allocations (KAP) from the Ministry of Interior.

Budget and selection process

The total contract value is up to €37,200 including VAT. The municipality is using a direct award procedure, meaning it has approached specific registered firms rather than holding an open tender. The contract will be awarded to the firm offering the lowest price that meets all qualification requirements.

Who can apply and what they need

Only construction firms that have been formally invited to submit a bid are eligible to participate. To qualify, a firm must be registered in the building construction category of the Greek Contractor Registry (MEEP). Along with their priced offer, bidders must submit a sealed packet of supporting documents, including:

  • MEEP registration certificate in the building construction category
  • Tax clearance certificate from the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE)
  • Social insurance clearance certificate from e-EFKA
  • Criminal record extract (issued within the last three months)
  • Court solvency certificate confirming the firm is not in insolvency, liquidation, or administration
  • GEMI trade registry certificates confirming the firm's legal status and authorised representatives
  • Statutory declarations confirming no grounds for exclusion under public procurement law and no prior contract with the municipality in the past 12 months
  • Additional documents depending on company type (board resolutions, representative certificates, taxisnet business status printout)

Firms registered in MEEP classes 3 to 7 may be exempt from some of these requirements if they hold a valid licence currency certificate (Enimerótita Ptychíou).

How and where to submit

Offers must be delivered in person to the municipal protocol office at the Apokoronas Town Hall in Vrysses. The sealed envelope must be clearly addressed to the Technical Department and labelled as a bid for the school repair project.

  • Submission deadline: Thursday, September 3, 2026
  • Contract value: up to €37,200 incl. VAT
  • Works duration: 8 months from contract signing
  • Contracting authority: Municipal Committee of Apokoronas
  • Mayor: Charalampos Koukianakis
