Mobile health team coming to Vryses on May 5
Residents of Vryses have the chance to get a free health check-up on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, when a mobile medical team from EODY (the National Public Health Organisation) visits the village. The team, accompanied by a doctor, will carry out a range of preventive tests using portable rapid-measurement equipment — no appointment needed.
How the day works
The visit is split into two parts:
- 9:00–11:00: Home visits for residents who are unable to travel due to health problems or limited mobility.
- 11:00–14:00: Open clinic at the village medical centre for everyone else. The last admission is at 13:30.
What tests are available?
The team will offer the following checks:
- Blood pressure
- Oxygen saturation (pulse oximetry)
- Body mass index (BMI)
- Cholesterol (if the doctor considers it necessary)
- Triglycerides (if the doctor considers it necessary)
- Haemoglobin / haematocrit (if the doctor considers it necessary)
- Blood glucose (if the doctor considers it necessary)
- Glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) (if the doctor considers it necessary)
Who should go?
The service is open to all residents of Vryses and the surrounding area. It is particularly useful for people who have limited access to specialist medical care or who live far from the nearest clinic. Those who need a home visit and cannot travel should inform the municipal office in advance.
This event is part of a national programme through which EODY, working with regional health authorities and local councils, brings preventive medical services to remote communities across Greece.
