Power cuts across Apokoronas and Chania: full schedule for April 15–18

The electricity grid operator DEDDIE has scheduled planned maintenance work that will cut power to a large number of villages and areas across the Chania region between Wednesday, April 15, and Saturday, April 18, 2026. Areas affected include Kokkino Chorio, Almyrida, Plaka, Georgioupoli, Tzivaras, Douliana, Elos, Kounoupidiana, Stavros, Tersanas and many more. Outages will last between two and seven hours depending on the area, and residents are reminded that all power lines should be treated as live even during a scheduled cut.

Power cuts across the Chania region: full schedule, April 15–18, 2026

Residents and businesses across a wide stretch of the Chania region are set to experience planned power cuts this week as the Greek electricity distribution operator DEDDIE carries out essential maintenance work on the grid. The outages are scheduled across four days, from Wednesday, April 15, to Saturday, April 18, 2026, and affect dozens of settlements from coastal Apokoronas to the western edge of Crete.

DEDDIE notes that if work is completed ahead of schedule, power may be restored earlier than the stated end time. However, all cables and network components must be treated as live at all times — touching any wire or network element, even one lying on the ground, is strictly prohibited due to the serious risk of electrocution.

If the works are completed earlier, power will be restored before the end time of the interruption stated above. For this reason, electrical installations and networks must be considered as continuously live.
